Foreign Affairs Canada through the Canadian Embassy, Washington, D.C. and the Consulate General of Canada in Detroit, has awarded the Michigan State University Canadian Studies Centre a Canadian Studies Matching Grant in support of the CN Forum. Canadian Studies Grants encourage dialogue and understanding of Canada on the part of American scholars and opinion leaders.

The
Centre's mission, to provide teaching, research and outreach
to those interested in the many relationships between Canada
and the United States, is derived from the university's
land-grant ethic. Areas of study include anthropology,
American studies, business, economics, English, fisheries
and wildlife, food science, geography, history, labor and
industrial relations, resource development, and social
sciences as well as teacher education. The Canadian Studies
Centre is among the area studies programs directed by Jeff
Reidinger, Acting Dean of International Studies and Programs.
